North End Pub - up in Smoke

It seems always on the coldest day of the year Halifax has a memorable fire. Well here goes another North-End Halifax landmark. The NorthEnd Pub and Grill, which used to be called Comeaus back in the 1940's. Alot of Navy personal frequented this place, as it was directly across the street from CFB Stadacona. 2 years ago in Feb an apartment building in Fairview, 3 years ago in March a building on Gottingen St south of the Pub, and 4-5 or so years ago, the building right next door to the North End pub, which was a Greek restuarant. It never rebuilt, an apt complex is now there. CRAZY.It was -30 deg celcuis with the wind chill today. The water was freezing as it came out of the hoses. When the building colapsed it went in on itself, and started to burn again. What a friggin mess. I hope Kay has a place to make her pies and raffle them for for Christmas Daddies this year and her fundraising, I hope that ATV helps her out, as she was a big fundraiser for the Christmas fundraiser. The newsclip thinks it was maybe an electrical problem. who knows.

Family Christmas Message Podcast !

Last year We sent out a Christmas Card put on a dvd with a message of how did over the year. Well this year we are doing sort of the same except we are going to post it as a podcast, that way it is available to all our friends, not just the ones we send a card to. Anyway peliminary ideas are in orbit in my head for the storyline and location. But it is an idea for anyone who wants to be crafty and thrifty this christmas. (Fred)

beta tape transfer

I have started to transfer some of our personal videos from back in the 80's to dvd, well, the tapes are so degrading it's not funny, lines through them, I thought maybe it was the quality of the original recoding, but nah nah. they are going down, as they just sat there, they lost magnitism. So everyone should get there old tapes done off before they are paper weights....

Halloween

I'm going through my year cycle of watching the Halloween series again. I laugh more and more each time i watch it, I can see the bloopers better now in each one and the breaks in continuity.. ahh but they are still good movies my favorite series, then comes star wars, and rocky.

Trailer Park Boys

Speaking of movies, the Trailer Park Boys boys car the "Shitmobile" was up by my house today drivng around taping stock footage for the driving parts in the next season #7. They already did an episode her in the Freshmart, Appartley, the boys are getting presents for Trinity's Birthday party. "oops that's a secret".....Watch for a blue van in the background with flags on the roof, that's ours.
