beta tape transfer

I have started to transfer some of our personal videos from back in the 80's to dvd, well, the tapes are so degrading it's not funny, lines through them, I thought maybe it was the quality of the original recoding, but nah nah. they are going down, as they just sat there, they lost magnitism. So everyone should get there old tapes done off before they are paper weights....
